Building a wild bee hotel

Impuls-Event will help you build biologically valuable nesting aids specifically for wild bees. You will learn interesting facts about the endangered and typically tube-nesting wild bee species, which, unlike honey bees, usually live solitary lives.

 

Wild bees are the world's most important pollinator group and by building your own wild bee hotel, you will help the 60 or so species of wild bees found in Switzerland to reproduce. Did you know that although wild bees have a stinger, they rarely use it and when they do, they can hardly pierce human skin with their stinger? In contrast to the insect hotels that are often offered, which are decorative but of little benefit to the insects, the wild bee hotels used by Impuls-Event are ecologically extremely useful nesting aids.
