Höllgrotten tour

Description

Discover the worldwide unique stalactite caves near Baar.

Höllgrotten is the name given to the limestone caves near Baar, which are certainly worth a visit. The caves are situated adjacent to the wild and picturesque valley of the river Lorze, displaying a fantastic array of stalactites and stalagmites.

The caves, after millennia of being formed by calcareous springs, were discovered at the end of the 19th century, while tuff was being mined from a nearby quarry. Together with an expert guide, you will explore the spectacular limestone caves. The stalagmites and stalactites in their various hues give each cave its own character. This fairy tale world is well lit, and the caves are connected by good pathways.
