To mark the Open Days at museums and historic buildings, guided tours of the Baroque Zurlaubenhof estate will take place on 1 August. Construction of the Zurlaubenhof began in 1597 and it is now recognised as a listed monument and a cultural asset of national importance. Various architectural additions and alterations over the centuries have made the complex a significant testament to architectural history. Until 1799, the estate was owned by the influential Zurlauben family of Zug; from 1843 onwards, it belonged to the Bossard family and, since 2022, has finally been owned by the City of Zug. The Zurlaubenhof is to be made accessible to the public in the long term, and the guided tours on Swiss National Day offer a glimpse into rooms that are not currently open to the public.

The guided tours, in German and English, will be led by Dr Christian Raschle (former city archivist), Mercedes Lämmler and Evelyne Schmidt.
