UNESCO World Heritage Site Residence Palace & Court Garden (2h)

Since 1981, the Residence Palace is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Particularly impressive is the magnificent staircase with the breathtaking frescoes by the Venetian artist, Tiepolo, the Emperor‘s Hall and the Mirror Cabinet. The Court Garden of the Residence Palace is divided into Italian, French and English garden areas. In the Baroque garden, there is much to be admired, such as the garden sculptures of Greek mythological figures by the sculptor, Johann Peter Wagner, along with the symmetrical flower beds, rising terraces and golden lanes.

Opening times of Residence Palace: 
 November - March daily 10.00 a.m. to 4.30 p.m. 
 April - October daily 09.00 am to 6.00 p.m.

The Residence Palace is closed on january 1st, Mardi Gras, 24th and 25th of december, 31st of december.

Entrance fees per person: 9,00 EUR
Groups with minimum 15 adults: 8,00 EUR

Tour guides and bus drivers as well as children and young people under the age of 18 have free admission. On presentation of proof from the school, all students and accompanying teachers have free entry.

Payment: Cash on the spot, by bank card or credit card. In case, you wish to pay by invoice, it is mandatory to contact Mrs. Köppe in the administration department of the Residence Palace directly in advance.

Appropriate to wheelchairs: partially (Residence Palace yes, in the Court Garden not all areas are barrier-free, gravel paths).

(Exception: Please book tour appointments directly after Christmas / New Year / Easter / Pentecost at least 7 days in advance, as the processing time is extended by the holidays.)
