Würzburg Highlights

Description

The highlight of a city tour through the Old Town is a visit to the former residence of the prince bishops of Würzburg. Balthasar Neumann built the Residence Palace at the beginning of the 18th century. It was officially declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1981. Most impressive are the magnificent grand staircase with the breathtaking frescos by the Venetian artist Tiepolo and the mirror cabinet.

Opening times of Residence Palace:
 November - March daily 10.00 a.m. to 4.30 p.m.
 April - October daily 09.00 am to 6.00 p.m.

The Residence Palace is closed on january 1st, Mardi Gras, 24th and 25th of december, 31st of december.

Entrance fees per person: 9,00 EUR
Groups with minimum 15 adults: 8,00 EUR

Tour guides and bus drivers as well as children and young people under the age of 18 have free admission. On presentation of proof from the school, all students and accompanying teachers have free entry.

Payment for the entrance: Cash on the spot, by bank card or credit card. In case, you wish to pay by invoice, it is mandatory to contact Mrs. Köppe in the administration department of the Residence Palace directly in advance.

(Exception: Please book tour appointments directly after Christmas / New Year / Easter and Pentecost at least 7 days in advance, as the processing time is extended by the holidays.)
