Before its foundation in 994 until the secularization in 1803, it experienced a changeful history, which was very much dependent on the character of the respective head of the monastery. "Rufinus Mayr" was abbot of Seeon from 1727 to 1753. In 1732 he had a large granary built for the Mayr house on the western hill. The house Rufinus has 22 guest rooms for 1-4 persons, the clear interior design and high quality furnishings are our calling card. The prices quoted do not include the spa tax of € 0.80 per person/night for adults. Children from 11 to 16 years of age: € 0.40. Children up to 10 years of age: € 0.00.
From 01.01.2024, a spa tax of € 1.50 per person/night for adults will apply. Children and young people from the age of 6 to the age of 16: € 0.75. Children up to the age of 6: € 0.00.

Arrival Description

Haus Rufinus is easy to reach and is conveniently located between Munich and Salzburg, 7 km north of Lake Chiemsee. By car you can reach us via the A8 Munich-Salzburg. Exit Bernau-Prien or Traunstein-Schweinbach. Or via the B 304 from Munich in the direction of Mühldorf,exit Fortinning in the direction of Ebersberg, Wasserburg -Traunstein, in Obing then in the direction of Seeon. If you want to arrive by train, go to Bad Endorf, Prien or Traunstein. A shuttle service is available in our house on request. The nearest airport is in Salzburg (60 km) or Munich (90 km).
