Climatic health resort Reit im Winkl According to Wikipedia, the title of climatic health resort is awarded to "places whose air and climate, according to an expert opinion, have properties that are conducive to relaxation and health." Reit im Winkl was named a climatic health resort in 1956 and since then has repeatedly fulfilled the requirements for the expert opinion through its endeavours. Firstly, the altitude, which ensures that the summer heat is moderate and the nights remain pleasantly cool. The town is surrounded by extensive mountain forests in the Chiemgau Alps and is part of the "Bavarian Alps" climate district. The character of the weather is decisively determined by the conditions, i.e. by the influence of the mountain ranges and the valley incisions on the weather. In addition to the natural conditions for good air, we actively ensure that the good mountain air is preserved by using natural warmth or offering plenty of buses.

Arrival Description

By car to Reit im Winkl: Coming from Munich on the A8 motorway, take the Grabenstätt exit. From there take the B305 (German Alpine Road) to Reit im Winkl (27km). An alternative is the Inntal motorway. Turn off just before Rosenheim at the Inntal triangle and continue to the Oberaudorf exit. From there, take the Austrian main road 172 to Reit im Winkl. Coming from Salzburg, take the motorway (A 8) to the Inzell-Ruhpolding exit and continue via Ruhpolding to Reit im Winkl. By train to Reit im Winkl: The nearest train station is in Prien am Chiemsee. From here you have the best bus connections (RVO bus line 9505) to Reit im Winkl. By plane: Munich Airport is approx. 140 km and Salzburg Airport approx. 70 km from Reit im Winkl.
