The Herdengl Organic Farm is nestled in the Ybbstal Alps in the Mostviertel region—quiet enough to leave everyday life behind, yet just a few minutes from the town center of Lunz am See.

When you arrive here, you’ll quickly feel the rhythm change. The mountains draw closer; the to-do list fades into the distance. Sometimes it doesn’t take much for a great vacation.

A log cabin that smells of nature. Children running barefoot through the grass in the morning. And a breakfast with an unobstructed view of the mountains surrounding Lunz am See—from the Großer Ötscher to the Scheiblingstein and on to the Hetzkogl.

Families in particular will find this spacious wooden house the perfect place to spend their vacation together. The vacation rental accommodates up to six people and combines the charm of a traditional log cabin with everything you need for a relaxing getaway. Three bedrooms, a large kitchen-living room, a private garden, and plenty of space to spend time together make the house the ideal starting point for hikes, days spent swimming at Lunzer See, or exploring the surrounding mountains. The region reveals a different side of itself in every season. In spring, nature awakens around the farm; in summer, Lake Lunz and the mountains beckon; in fall, the forests glow with warm colors; and in winter, the snow-covered landscape offers a special sense of tranquility.

The vacation rental is available year-round and offers the perfect retreat for families who want to experience nature and spend time together.

Horses are also an integral part of life on the farm—a labor of love for hostess Heidi. If you take a leisurely stroll through the grounds, you’ll encounter them time and again in the pastures. Calm, natural, and perfectly suited to a place where nature still sets the tone.
