Similar to a hidden nightclub, this hotel´s creative potential and familial flair is hardly visible from the outside. Located on the top floors of an industrial building, The Flushing Meadows Hotel & Bar - official member of Design Hotels - is situated bang in the middle of Munich´s hip - and super central - Glockenbach neighborhood. Nestled between the wild Isar river banks and historical sights, such as the famous Viktualienmarkt and the Deutsches Museum, the hotel´s immediate surrounding is made up of restaurants, bars and boutiques. Upstairs, the hustle and bustle of the streets below quickly makes way for a chill, unique type of hotel. Eleven of the hotel´s 16 rooms were created exclusively in close collaboration with some of the makers friends and local tastemakers/personalities from the fields of design, music, gastronomy, sports and arts. Consequently all lofts and studios offer hardwood flooring but totally different experiences: elegant, surf-style, reduced Japanese, colourful, bizarre, lush or minimalistic, depending on the room. The other five rooms are located on the hotel´s top floor, three of which offer a private terrace. These rooms feature cosy panelling, fluffy carpets and are awash with light thanks to top-to-bottom windows which face south in direction of the lovely St. Maximilians church and the Alps. The rooftop bar is the hotel´s meeting point and hangout. Enjoy the panoramic view in a casual living room atmosphere - and have a memorable stay in Munich.
