"Room with scoff marks on the wall, shade of lamp dirty after somekind of liquid got on it, the one sofa chair in the room with a big stain, minibar not restocked as well coffee cups not replaced. My 8th time at the hotel and first time I experiance anything else the great hotel. Needs some quality control form head of maid. Even came a silverfish in the bathroom and the toilet seat is yellow in colour!"

"It was good experience. The hotel was good. Rooms are little congested. Hotel staff is not cooperative. They do not provide water in rooms as complimentary water on daily basis. I asked one of staff member to give me water 5 am in the morning and he refused and said you need to buy. I asked him to give me water and charge my room. He refused and said no water is available until 6:30 AM. Ridiculous service. Totally un professional. Room rates are very expensive and staff is totally not cooperative. There is no one available for concerige service. The breakfast do not have lot of variety. I asked the waiter to give me fried egg and he refused. Then on 2nd day it took more than 20 mins to get fried egg after requesting 5 people. No welcome drink or cookies are provided while check inn. Pathetic service."

"Return stay after 3 previous Stays, all great experiences. Once again the location is superb - about 10-15 mins out of Munich centre but has a train station (u-bahn) located adjacent to the hotel front entrance. Hotel is also located at a Westfield shopping mall (Rheim) which is excellent for food options as well as any other needs. Parking is also plentiful, due to the adjacent shopping mall. Staff are super friendly, rooms are modern, spacious & well appointed. Can't fault the place. Will definitely stay here again when we return to Munich."

"Munich was our gateway for our holiday. We originally stayed at a hotel in central Munich before travelling to other European countries. When we were planning to return to Munich, it coincided with Oktoberfest and the prices at the central hotel in Munich were overpriced. The Novotel was a welcome find. It was only 20 minutes by train from central Munich and the station was right next o the hotel. The hotel is also next to a shopping mall offering great food options and shopping. The food at the hotel was also very good. The staff were helpful. The rooms offered everything you would need. Recommend."

"Standard kits and water are not provided on a daily basis. When I asked for toothbrush I had to go and take it myself and the toothpaste was dry as a gum. When I needed iron at first I couldn't reach the reception for one hour, then when I finally reached them they had no irons available and told me to come to reception to iron my clothes. I travel often but have never seen such a poor service in 4 stars hotel. The hotel itself is good but service is very dissatisfying."

"My room was just near construction works in the hotel. These started at 7am both days of my stay. On checkout day, while I was working in my room, I've been interrupted no less than 5 times between 8.30 and 10 am by the staff of the hotel. This is too much!"

"Booked an executive room for the weekend to watch Adele. Room AC was poor which was an issue in 30c heat. Asked for a quiet room but my room overlooked the main road. Meant to have free mini bar but it was not restocked nor were coffee making items replaced. Difficult to get water after 1pm. No 24 hour room service. Positives were that it a good location for the concert and the staff friendly. Due to the concert room rates were extremely overpriced so given my comments above not great value."

"Overall, a nice place, though expensive, I would say, especially with the special event rate in place. The breakfast is far too expensive for what it is, even though it is good. If you’re next to the elevator (in our case, room 460 iirc), you’ll hear the elevator all the time, including into the night, which was annoying. The staff is very friendly and helpful, and the surrounding area is close to food, shops, U2 line, and of course, Munich Messe. I appreciated that on the morning of the Adele concert, Adele was playing at breakfast; to me, that was a fun and sentimental nod."

"Overall our stay was fine. However, the sleep experience was poor due to uncomfortable mattresses. Our kids slept on a pull out couch in the room which had an appallingly bad mattress. Super thin and they could feel all the springs despite only weighing 25kgs. For a 4 star hotel, this was definitely sub-standard. While parking is available in the area, access is difficult and poorly sign-posted. we called reception but they were completely unable to help or give guidance. Breakfast was good and all other interactions with staff as well"

"I got to my room and the air conditioner was not working properly. I had to figure it out to make it go on and leave it that way. I woke up to a spider in my ceiling which I have a photo of. No hotel should have bugs in your room. That's very unacceptable. It was never taken care of and in the room until I checked out. Now the water was a mess in the shower. The water would not regulate and I needed to take a shower either hotter than hot or freezing cold. That is not okay. I don't believe I'll stay here again ever."

"We know this hotel, we visit it regularly and, as always, the hotel is up to Novotel standards. But this morning was different. We had two rooms and at 8.30am someone from the staff came to both rooms (one even without knocking) and woke up the two people sleeping there. Then, while we were having breakfast, someone came back into the room (as the receptionist said, to refill the minibar) and the headphones that were on the bedside table disappeared from the room. When we reported this to reception, we were told that 8.30am is the normal time for staff to enter rooms, that we should put a 'no entry' sign on the door, and that the headphones must be among our belongings because there were two people in the room, one of whom is a long-time employee, and no one else could have entered. To be honest, I would have expected a lot more interest, a real solution and not just sweeping the problem under the carpet, especially in the case of a long-term customer with a history with Accor. Hopefully I can now expect a reasonable response from the manager."

"Our superior room stinked and had an issue that water from bathroom was always keeping the carpet wet, room was 156 if I remember correctly. When we got into the room then there was strong smell of detergent, probably they tried to hide the moisture smell. We complained about the moisture and smell, they sent a cleaning person who just sprayed some more detergent to the carpet. A guy entered our room multiple times to check and restock the minibar - this should be done before 3PM and letting customers into the room. Minibar itself was free of charge in superior room, not sure if restocking would have been for free too. The corridor walls were being painted during Adele's concerts week when they were fully sold out - timing of renovations should be more logical. Didn't take the 26 eur per person hotel breakfast, there were multiple cafes at the shopping center where you can have breakfast for about 15 eur per person. Location close to the Messe center and close to the metro station to take 20 minute ride to old town was convenient but would not stay here again unless need to visit the Messe center again. Room was very overpriced as it was the week of Adele's concerts nearby. Poor value for money, 386 EUR on the night of Adele's concert and 197 EUR the night before - without breakfast 😢"

"We had a 1 night stay (to see the Adele concert). As expected, the hotel was clean and most of the staff were polite and helpful. However, our lasting memory will be of one or two members of staff at the bar who were simply rude. One of the members of staff responded abruptly when I asked him for a drink. He said, that he just pours the drinks and the lady stood right next to him takes the orders. I duly followed his instructions and got our drinks order, though both of the bar staff were clearly unhappy with the arrangement. I witnessed 3 customers have exactly the same experience - all looked bemused and irritated by the attitude."

"Checked-in online only to find that upon arrival our rooms had been reassigned. The room had obviously been prepared in a rush as traces of menstrual blood remained under the lavatory seat from a previous occupant. The 'minibar' fridge was largely ornamental rather than functional (as has been stated in countless other reviews) where the room could be cooler than the inside of the fridge. As for room comfort - the pillows were like bricks, and the noise from outside the front of the hotel was found enough for us on the 2nd floor to be disruptive to sleep. The staff at breakfast were very attentive and professional(despite the breakfast selection being very poor), as were the bar staff, but the front desk could not be further detached from interest if they tried. The Novotel in the city itself is so much better by a considerable order of magnitude, and upon reflection would have been the better proposition given how easy it is to get to Messe from the city centre by Underground."
