The apartment is ideal for 4 people, but offers a total of up to 6 beds (one double bed and two single beds, which can be separated from each other by sliding doors, as well as a dormitory for 2 people under the roof). On the upper floor, a library with a comfortable armchair and a bench invites you to stay. The guests will find a selection of literature on local topics and by Swiss authors, as well as some exciting thrillers to shorten the rare rainy days in Valais and, of course, there are books for the young readers too. On the same floor is a modern shower room with WC. A hair dryer is available. Furthermore, the apartment has a fully equipped modern kitchen (with fridge, ceramic hob, oven, dishwasher and coffee machine) with dining room and a living room with a typical stone oven from 1885, which is fully functional and exudes cosy warmth. The apartment has a flat screen TV and on request our guests can also use Wi-Fi. But, of course, we would be delighted if the collection of games (various card and board games, carom, Lego and more) that you find in the living room closet would arouse your interest. There is also a roofed balcony with seating and views of our local mountain, the Bietschhorn, which is equipped with an ashtray for our smoking guests. Your sports equipment can be stored in a cellar in the adjoining building. Parking is available in the covered car park of Ferden, which is approximately 100 meters away from the apartment. The fees are CHF 5.- per day.

Description

Experience a unique stay in a historic building from the 17th century. The two-storey apartment in the middle of the old village center of Ferden was completely renovated in 2018 and offers all the comforts of a modern house (fully equipped kitchen and modern bathroom with floor heating) on 90m2. At the same time, the charm of the original building was preserved. In the gentle renovation, great emphasis was placed on the use of local materials (local wood and sheep wool for the walls and their isolation) and non-toxic building materials were used. Throughout the apartment you will always come across traces of past times (family insignia on the historic stove and on the ceiling beams, old utensils, a more than a 100 years old spinning wheel, but also memories of the current owners (stone art from Zimbabwe and abstract paintings from the Czech Republic). A part of the furnishing (kitchen table and bench, clock) was restored with love or self-made (pillows, curtains, chairs and more).

Conditions/extras

The rent is CHF 175 per day. Cleaning costs of CHF 140.- are added per stay. Bed linen and towels are included in the price. On request, we can stock the fridge with local products on arrival (order by e-mail, against invoice).
In addition to the rent you have to pay the visitor's tax (CHF 4.80 per adult/night and CHF 2.40 per child (6-16 years)/night. After your booking, you will be given the opportunity to register for the guest card / visitor's tax here. We will print out the guest cards and give them to you on arrival.
By paying the visitor's tax, our guests receive benefits, among other things, the use of public transportation
