Hardly any room in our historic house is like another - we have been able to preserve and restore many beautiful details from past centuries. For example, you will find the "Lindau ceiling" - a historic beamed ceiling, half-timbering or columns with filigree stonework that create a special flair.

Description

Our beautiful building has been part of the history of Lindau since the beginning of the 15th century. Today's Alter Schulplatz was then called Karolinenplatz and the adjoining historical archway, the entrance to the centre of the island, was still dreams of the future. The name "Alte Schule" is to be taken literally - once the daughters of Lindau patrician families were taught here. The building hides many treasures from past centuries: stone columns with filigree stonemasonry from the 16th century and the famous "Lindauer Decke", a slightly vaulted wooden beam ceiling, which has been preserved and freshly restored in many rooms. These are only two examples of the preserved contemporary history. Sometimes, when the island lies in the autumn fog and everything comes to rest, you can almost hear the old walls talking and imagine the stories they tell...

Check-in and check-out regulation

We are happy to welcome you daily between 16:00 and 20:00. Checking in at a different time is possible around the clock by arrangement.
