Walking tour of Roman Cologne with visit to Romano-Germanic Museum (for students)

Guided School and Children’s Tours

Description

We discover COLONIA all the way the Romans did: per pedes. This search for evidence partly follows the course of the Roman city walls, partly right through the middle of the former Roman city, which today is still the centre of Cologne. Did the Romans also stroll along the "Hohe Straße"? What is special about the "Hafenstraße"?

As the majority of the hidden treasures of our Roman forefathers are to be seen in the Romano-Germanic Museum, we round off our exploration of COLONIA with a visit to this unique museum. The exhibition of Roman glassware alone is unique worldwide. In addition, the monumental tombstone of Poblicius and the outstandingly-preserved Dionysos Mosaic are not only spectacular evidence of a highly advanced culture in the past, but also examples of the most recent exciting archaeological history.
