Quiet, chic, spacious and with a beautiful view: In the attic of our lovingly renovated 19th century farmhouse you will find the newly furnished, 90 m² holiday flat Alpine Affair. We are at home in tranquil Au near Bad Aibling in the Chiemsee-Alpenland region of Upper Bavaria. The flat is stylishly furnished with lots of wood and Swiss pine accessories and has its own entrance. The living area is laid out loft-like. There is a sleeping area (double bed), a fully equipped kitchen, dining and living areas as well as a bathroom with bathtub, shower and WC. Also: east-facing balcony, terrace with sun loungers and table - view of the village and the mountains. Carport with charging station for e-car and e-bikes, free WiFi, parking spaces. The flat is a perfect starting point for bike tours, hikes, visits to the thermal spa Bad Aibling and excursions. It is 50 km from Munich, 18 km from Schliersee, 35 km from Chiemsee and 98 km from Munich Airport.

Environment description

Au bei Bad Aibling, a district of the health resort and mud spa Bad Feilnbach, is located in Upper Bavaria in the Chiemsee-Alpenland region, exactly between Munich and Salzburg. Meadows, forests, moors, orchards, lakes and rivers characterise the largely flat landscape around Au. The Bavarian Alps rise on the horizon. The village is perfectly situated for outdoor activities and excursions. There are numerous beautiful cycle paths. Hikers can choose between paths on the plain or tours in the Chiemgau and Mangfalltal Alps. Lake Chiemsee with Fraueninsel, Herreninsel and Herrenchiemsee Castle is only 35 kilometres away. Rosenheim, Wasserburg am Inn, Bad Aibling and Kufstein in Austria are ideal for city visits. There is a wide range of cultural activities, including Bavarian and Tyrolean traditions. A place to relax is the nearby Bad Aibling spa. In Au and the nearby surroundings there are good shopping facilities for groceries and a number of cosy inns and restaurants. The Dorfwirt, butcher and Edeka are less than 200 metres away.

About the host

Your hosts are Diana and Stephan Kalinka with their son Felix and their dwarf dog Rocky. Our quietly situated house, a farmhouse from the 19th century, has been carefully renovated. We have recently converted the attic and completely refurbished the Alpine Affair holiday flat. Diana Audi-Kalinka runs the shop "Traumwerkstatt am Dorfplatz" in the village of Au and is a specialist for products made of Swiss stone pine. You will also find many fragrant accessories made of Swiss stone pine in the flat. Stephan Kalinka is the managing director of a tourism marketing agency. Junior Felix is involved in school and sports. The friendly dwarf spitz Rocky "guards" the property. We are out and about in nature ourselves a lot and are happy to give you tips for excursions, bike tours, hikes, swimming lakes and the nearest ski resorts.

Arrival Description

Motorway A8 Munich-Salzburg, coming from Munich exit Irschenberg, left onto B 472 towards Miesbach, first turn off St2077 towards Fischbachau left, second turn off St2010 towards Au bei Bad Aibling, in the village first crossroads right, immediately right again and right again into Achthalerstraße, after 100 metres the destination is reached on the left. Motorway A8 Salzburg-Munich, coming from the Inntal triangle exit Bad Aibling, turn right onto the St2089 in the direction of Bad Feilnbach, first roundabout first exit onto the St2010 in the direction of Au bei Bad Aibling, in the village last crossroads (Edeka/Sparkasse) left, immediately right again and right again into Achthalerstraße, after 100 metres the destination is reached on the left-hand side. By train from Munich, Salzburg or Kufstein to Rosenheim - from there taxi (approx. 30-40 euros) or to Bad Aibling - from here bus line 9580 to Au - church.
