A new Duisburg Sportpark Wedau Youth Hostel is being built in Duisburg-Wedau, directly adjacent to the MSV Arena, a race course of an international standard, a lido and an indoor ice rink. The hostel's special location attracts sports groups in particular to the Ruhr. As a Sport Hostel, the hostel is especially attractive for active guests: a gym with a sauna, a sports hall, a small playing field with artificial turf and two beach volleyball courts offer ideal conditions for a training camp and competition preparation. Seven seminar and conference rooms for up to 100 people also make seminars and training for professional athletes, referees and study groups possible. Of course, not only sportspeople but also other conference guests, families and groups are welcome in the new youth hostel. Varied programmes involving sports, team training and industrial culture are on offer to school groups. The idyllic location offers visitors many opportunities for a variety of leisure activities and Duisburg's town centre is not far away. In addition, the hostel is an ideal starting point for excursions to the Ruhr area and the neighbouring town of Düsseldorf. 220 beds in 70 rooms, all with private bath will be at guests' disposal from the summer of 2013. The entire house will be barrier-free and adapted to meet the specific needs of wheelchair users, the partially sighted and the hearing impaired. Two dining rooms, a bistro and a barbecue area also offer enough space for meeting other guests. The new hostel therefore meets all the new requirements of modern hostel accommodation. Duisburg-Wedau Sport Hostel is located in the immediate vicinity of Wedau Stadium. Arriving by public transport From Duisburg Hauptbahnhof (main station), take the 934 bus towards "Wolfsee" and get off at the "MSV Arena" stop. From there, you can walk to the hostel in a few minutes.
