Dresden High Above - An Exclusive Journey Through Time on the Dresden Town Hall Tower
Discover Dresden from a bird's eye view on a historical tower tour on the highest tower in the city center.
As you climb the tower, you'll be treated to a breathtaking panoramic view of the historic Old Town with its famous Frauenkirche (Church of Our Lady). Your gaze will glide over the gentle Elbe Valley from Meissen in the west, south to the Ore Mountains, and all the way to the imposing peaks of Saxon Switzerland National Park in the east.
To the north, you'll have a direct view of the Old and New Towns, all the way to the Dresden Heath city forest.
Equipped with binoculars (included), your tower guide will take you on a fascinating journey through Dresden's eventful history.
In the tower room, history comes alive: Historical photographs illustrate the city's glorious rise, dramatic fall, and impressive reconstruction. A special feature are Dresden's peregrine falcons - they nest right in the tower's dome! If you're lucky, you might even spot the nimble family of falcons.
Whether you're looking for snapshots or the perfect selfie, you'll find the most beautiful motifs for your vacation photos on the viewing platform.
Only five guests are allowed per tour - so it's a small and exclusive adventure in a cozy atmosphere! The tour fills up quickly. It's best to reserve early.
The climb? 270 well-maintained steps, which are easily manageable even for those with a less comfortable height. Seating in the tower room invites you to take a breather.
By the way: Restrooms are available, but unfortunately the tour is not wheelchair accessible.
