Information

In the middle of the past

Ride in the golden carriage from the Wilsdruffer Vorstadt to the magnificent century wedding of Friedrich August in the Zwinger. Travel 300 years back in time and experience the baroque Dresden up close with virtual reality.
Anno 1719 - with us you will not only get to know the life of the people in the baroque era, you will become part of it! With Augmented- and Virtual Reality technology you will sink into the almost perfect illusion of "Elbflorenz", as Dresden is also called, of the early 18th century.

Experience Dresden in baroque style.
During your 45-minute visit you will pass through 3 exciting stations:

1. The Hall of Mirrors

In the magnificent Hall of Mirrors, the visitors are ceremoniously welcomed by the master of ceremonies on behalf of the host, Augustus the Strong from the House of Wettin. He tells of the noble Wettin family, whose history is accompanied by animations and baroque music. At the end, the master of ceremonies gives an overview of the route of the later carriage ride before preparing the carriages.

2. The Theatre Court

The juggler's stage in the suburbs delights with a paper theater. Set into a juggler's carriage, an animated film is shown on a television. The jester figure tells of the court and the wedding. Unlike the master of ceremonies, he does not refrain from making crude jokes about the nobility. A clear contrast to the fine tones in the Hall of Mirrors. After the performance, the carriages are ready and the journey to the wedding celebration begins.

3. The Coach House

The undisputed highlight of our exhibition! Climb aboard one of our seven historic coaches and immerse yourself in the extravagant and opulent wedding celebrations of Friedrich August and Maria Josepha - all thanks to virtual reality.
