Short Characteristics

The Steigenberger Hotel de Saxe opposite Dresden´s famous Frauenkirche attracts both city tourists and business travellers with its 185 guest rooms and ten conference rooms. The four-star superior hotel was constructed after historical buildings and decorated with a loving attention to detail. The hotel harmoniously combines the traditional with the modern by contrasting original architectural fragments with contemporary interpretations of well known Dresden monuments. The “de Saxe” offers 178 spacious rooms and seven suites, which are equipped with comfortable beds, air conditioning, laptop safe, cable TV, phones, W-LAN, fax and ISDN ports. In the restaurant with balcony and in the summer terrace, culinary treats are offered. 10 fully equipped conference rooms plus a wide range of business services are available for conferences up to 240 people.

Das gesamte Hotel ist sehr schön, alles aufeinander abgestimmt ( Einrichtung). Der Service ist dezent, unaufdringlich und schnell ( beim Servieren, Einchecken, abräumen). Wenn es Kritikpunkte gibt, dann wäre es nur meckern auf hohem Niveau, denn das Gesamtpaket stimmt! Selbst dass das Hotel nun mittlerweile 9 Jahre am Neumarkt "aktiv" ist, merkt man nicht. Wir haben wunderbar geschlafen, lecker gefrühstückt und haben unseren Ausflug sehr genossen!

Which negative Impressions did you get?

Der Unterschied der "Behandlung" eines Vollzahlers und den Gästen, welche über "Dresden-erleben" gebucht haben, wurde leider am Empfang mehr als deutlich. Frühstück ohne frisches Obst - bei der Sternekategorie ist dies allerdings zu erwarten.

Dass für das Frühstück 25 Euros (p.P.) bezahlt werden müssen, finden wir total unangemessen. Im Steigenberger Hotel in Berlin war das Frühstück inbegriffen, und in andern Hotels haben wir max. 13 Euros bezahlt. So lässt man es eben bleiben, denn für 50 Euros für 2 Pers. können wir anderswo gleich noch den Lunch und das Abendessen einnehmen... Vermutlich bin ich von Bettwanzen gebissen worden, denn ich hatte nach der 2. Nacht eindeutige Quaddeln von Bettwanzen (Zi-Nr. 418)... ist ein etwas unangenehmer Gedanke (auch wenn klar ist, dass diese ev. von andern Gästen eingeschleppt wurden...) Vom Personal an der Rezeption wurden wir nicht gerade freundlich empfangen... keine Frage, ob das Gepäck ins Zimmer gebracht werden soll oder dergleichen; lag es daran, dass wir mit Rucksäcken und nicht mit Gucci-Taschen angereist sind?

der Frühstückspreis von 22,-- € ist absolut überteuert. Das Frühstücksbuffet ist zwar sehr gut, abert wer kann schon morgens für 22,-- @ essen? Sehr teure 2 Brötchen!
