Short Characteristics
The five-star Grand Hotel Taschenbergpalais Kempinski Dresden was originally built in the 18th century by order of Elector Augustus the Strong for his mistress Countess Cosel. Destroyed in World War II and meticulously rebuilt in 1995, the property underwent extensive renovations in 2024 to restore its former splendour. Today, the luxury hotel harmoniously combines historic baroque grandeur with modern elegance.
Ideally located in the heart of Dresden’s Old Town and surrounded by the city’s most iconic landmarks, the Taschenbergpalais offers 211 elegantly appointed rooms and suites. Guests can indulge in culinary delights at Das Palais restaurant, savour fine pastries at Amalie Pâtisserie & Lounge or enjoy creative cocktails at the innovative Bar 1705, named after the year the palace’s original construction. The inner courtyard, unique in Dresden, invites relaxation in summer and transforms into a cosy winter retreat with an Alpine hut.
The hotel also features a pool, wellness and fitness facilities and seven versatile event spaces, including six elegant salons on the Bel Etage and the multifunctional Kurfürstensaal (Elector's Hall). With decades of experience in five-star catering, we ensure every event is delivered to the highest standard.

Check-in is available from 15:00. Check-out is by 12:00 Noon.
Early check-in and late check-out may be arranged during booking or upon arrival (subject to availability).

Cancellations made up to 48 hours before arrival are free of charge. In the case of no-show or late cancellation, 90% of the room rate will be charged.

Arriving by Car:
Generally: Use 'Kleine Brüdergasse' as a navigation point.
From Leipzig/Chemnitz
• Take the A4 motorway to the Dresden Altstadt exit
• Continue on the B6 in the direction of the city centre
• At ‘Terassenufer’, turn right towards ‘Theaterplatz’
• At the next intersection, turn right before the Hofkirche (Court Church)
• After approximately 300 m, you will see the Hotel Taschenbergpalais Kempinski Dresden on the left
• Please follow the hotel signage
From Berlin/Bautzen
• Take the A4 to the Dresden Hellerau exit
• Continue on the B170 towards the city centre
• Follow ‘Hansastraße’ and turn right onto ‘Antonstraße’
• Cross the ‘Marienbrücke’ bridge
• After the bridge, turn left onto ‘Maxstraße’
• Proceed along ‘Ostra-Allee’ and follow the road
• Continue along ‘Sophienstraße’ and turn right onto Taschenberg
• After approximately 20 m, you will see the Hotel Taschenbergpalais Kempinski Dresden on your right
• Please follow the hotel signage
From the Airport
• Drive straight on ‘Flughafenstraße’ until ‘Königsbrücker Landstraße’
• Turn right onto ‘Königsbrücker Landstraße’
• At ‘Albertplatz’, turn right
• Continue over ‘Marienbrücke’ via ‘Antonstraße’
• After the bridge, turn left onto ‘Maxstraße’
• Follow the road along ‘Ostra-Allee’, then continue onto ‘Sophienstraße’
• Turn right at Taschenberg
• After approximately 20 m, you will see the Hotel Taschenbergpalais Kempinski Dresden on your right
• Please follow the hotel guidance system
