Information

With the City Guard through Old Dresden - only in german

Hear ye, hear ye!
The City Guard's call echoes through the city: clatter of hooves, fanfares - history awakens.
Bygone eras call today, are you explorers? We are delighted!

Join the valiant City Guard on an entertaining tour between the Frauenkirche, the Procession of Princes, and the Dresden Zwinger. In the historic Old Town, you will discover traces of long-gone times and learn about the original significance of the historic buildings. Our journey through time leads us through glorious eras of magnificent court life to the gunpowder smoke of Dresden's greatest trials.
On the Bastion, the old city fortifications, you will learn about the harsh fate of the Landsknechts, between dice games and sieges. With a twinkle in his eye and firsthand accounts, your City Guard will tell of the Prussian saber-rattling, the theft of Dresden's jewels, and extraordinary criminal cases.
After a successful patrol, you will be inducted into the ranks of the City Guard. And as a reward, there's a well-deserved "liquid bread": a freshly tapped and delicious beer specialty from our university brewery, Lohrmanns Brew.

Dinner
Included in the ticket is a delicious dinner at the Freiberger Schankhaus, a typical Saxon inn right on Neumarkt in the Old Town. With its cozy, historic ambiance, excellent cuisine featuring hearty Saxon home cooking, and superb regional beer specialties, it's also very popular with locals. Enjoy Saxon hospitality and choose one of four typical dishes:

choose one dish:
• Saxon Sauerbraten with red cabbage and potato dumplings - A true Saxon specialty!
• Freiberg beer goulash with sauerkraut and Bohemian dumplings - A Freiberg specialty, our recommendation!
• Seasoned chicken breast with mushrooms and cheese - Served with original Worcestershire sauce.
• Three spinach dumplings with melted butter and shaved Parmesan - A delicious vegetarian dish!

one choice of beverage:
• One delicious beer (0.3l, our recommendation: Freiberger Edelkeller)
• One non-alcoholic beverage (0.25l)
• One glass of wine (0.1l, e.g., Saxon regional wine from Meissen)
