Around 1900, the wooded area on Heidelberger Strasse between Darmstadt and Eberstadt was developed as a villa colony. Until the First World War, villas were built in the local style, in neoclassical or castle style. The villa district was not destroyed in the Second World War and offers a vivid impression of a villa district at the turn of the century.
