Museum Künstlerkolonie

As the central building of the 1901 exhibition, Joseph Maria Olbrich designed the studio building of the artists' colony at the highest point of the complex. The front side shows a broad building with clear forms and a richly ornamented, monumental portal. The former studio building is now used as the Artists' Colony Museum and exhibits works by the 23 members of the Darmstadt Artists' Colony. Tour of the museum with an explanation of the works, ideals and ideas of members of the artists' colony as well as the history of the four major art exhibitions between 1901 and 1914. For smaller groups (up to 9 people) the regular admission price of 5,-EUR per person applies. Children and young people (up to the age of 18) as well as school classes have free admission. Without prior booking, admission must be paid directly on site!
