On the traces of the city wall – from darmstadtium to Hinkelsturm

Under the Counts of Katzenelnbogen, Darmstadt received its town charter in 1330 and with it two important privileges: to hold a weekly and annual market and to build a town wall to protect the town. This is still visible today at the Hinkelsturm and in the underground part of the darmstadtium in the Horchtunnel.

Meeting point: Entrance darmstadtium*

Duration: 90 minutes 

The entrance fee of 2.50 euros per person is payable in cash at the museum box office. Pupils and students pay a reduced entrance fee of 1.50 euros, which is also payable at the museum box office.

The maximum group size is 25 persons.

The darmstadtium reserves the right to cancel booked tours up to two weeks before the date due to a change in the booking situation. Claims for damages against the darmstadtium or Darmstadt Marketing GmbH do not arise from this.
