The friendship of Heinrich Emanuel Merck and Justus von Liebig and its significance for today's forensics are as much a part of the scientific-historical tour as the beginnings of the Merck company in Darmstadt.
After a short walk through the city center, the chemical quest ends with an entertaining demonstration of historical chemistry experiments in the cellar of the Altes Pädagog.
