Our house is situated 720 metres above sea level, above the centre of Berchtesgaden (about a 10-minute walk away), at one of the most beautiful vantage points in the Berchtesgadener Land region, on the southern slope of the Kälberstein. Our holiday flat, facing the sunny side, allows you to enjoy an unrivalled view of the Berchtesgaden mountains from every room.

The magnificent location of our house offers you the perfect setting to relax and enjoy the best days of the year. The surrounding towns (Berchtesgaden, Bischofswiesen, Schönau am Königssee, Ramsau and Marktschellenberg), with their numerous excursion and leisure options, as well as the spa town of Bad Reichenhall and the cultural city of Salzburg, are all within easy reach. A stay at our house is sure to delight you whatever the season.

Environment description

The central location of our house makes it an ideal starting point for excursions on foot or by car. Circular walking routes through the woods around the Kälberstein, past the summer and winter ski jumps, and on to the ‘Aschauerweiher’ natural swimming spot (with cross-country ski trails in winter), are a leisurely stroll.

All the surrounding towns and villages near Berchtesgaden – each with its own distinctive character – as well as the spa town of Bad Reichenhall and the cultural city of Salzburg, are easily accessible by bus from the town centre or by car.

When it comes to sport and leisure activities (the Watzmanntherme water park, the salt mine – Heilstollen, outdoor swimming pools, rafting, paragliding, guided hiking and climbing tours, bobsleigh and toboggan runs, ski and snowboard slopes...) Berchtesgaden offers a wide range of options.

Arrival Description

A8 motorway Munich – Salzburg – take the Bad Reichenhall exit – then follow the B20 towards Bad Reichenhall and continue towards Berchtesgaden. About 350 metres after leaving Bischofswiesen, take the second exit at the roundabout there towards Stanggaß and Berchtesgaden town centre.

In Stanggaß, immediately after the pedestrian traffic lights there, turn left onto Sonnleitstraße towards Oberkälberstein

or:

carry on towards Berchtesgaden and take the second exit at the next roundabout. 150 metres after the petrol station on the left, just before the traffic island, turn sharply left into Kälbersteinstraße and follow this road uphill to Oberkälberstein.
