Welcome to Chalet "Menkenhof"! The chalet "Menkenhof" is part of the historic Menkenhof and is located in the direct vicinity. 140 years ago, the Menkenhof farmer's old folks' home stood on the same spot. It is wonderfully romantically nestled in a farm garden and offers two exclusive holiday flats on two floors. Two bedrooms with double beds, two bathrooms, a fully equipped kitchen with corner bench and a living area are located on a generously proportioned 120m² of living space. In the 5-star holiday flat "Wiese", a cosy farmhouse parlour with tiled stove and "Sitzbankerl" awaits you, and in the 5-star holiday flat "Sonne", a cosy living room with chopped exposed roof truss and a tiled stove with "Sitzbankerl" for cosy hours. From there you can access the terrace or the spacious balcony, which invite you to relax and linger for breakfast in the morning, afternoon tea or "just because". Enjoy the magnificent view of the vast meadows and the wonderful mountain world. Or strap on your cross-country skis and just go for a run! When building our chalet, we placed special emphasis on health-conscious construction and natural materials. Wooden floorboards and brick walls with natural lime, among other things, ensure a particularly pleasant living climate. To round off an eventful holiday day, you will find a Finnish sauna with relaxation area(for a fee) in the basement. There you will also find a laundry room with washing machine, tumble dryer, ironing board, iron etc. Only a few steps away is our Blindauer "Semmelhäuschen". Here you can get fresh pastries and everything you need for your breakfast every day! In summer, our house is the starting point for many wonderful hikes and mountain tours. In winter, romantic winter hiking trails, cross-country ski trails, natural toboggan run, ski jump, snow tubing and ski lifts are in the immediate vicinity. Our house offers the ideal starting point for an active and relaxing holiday in every season. Pets are not allowed.

Luftkurort Reit im Winkl According to Wikipedia, the title "climatic health resort" is awarded to "localities whose air and climate, according to an expert opinion, have properties that are conducive to recreation and health. Reit im Winkl was designated a climatic health resort in 1956 and since then has repeatedly met the requirements for the certificate by making efforts. For one thing, the altitude ensures that the summer heat remains moderate and the nights pleasantly cool. The village is surrounded by extensive mountain forests of the Chiemgau Alps and belongs to the "Bavarian Alps" climate district. The weather character is decisively determined by the conditions, i.e. by the influence of the mountain ranges and the valley incisions on the weather events.In addition to the natural conditions for good air, we actively take care with the natural warmth or ample bus offers that the good mountain air is preserved for us.

Arrival Description

By car to Reit im Winkl: Coming from Munich on the A 8 motorway, take the Grabenstätt exit. From there take the Bundesstraße 305 (German Alpine Road) to Reit im Winkl (27km). The Inntal motorway offers an alternative. Turn off shortly before Rosenheim at the "Inntaldreieck" and drive to the Oberaudorf exit. From there, take the Austrian federal road 172 to Reit im Winkl. Coming from Salzburg, take the motorway (A 8) to the Inzell-Ruhpolding exit and continue via Ruhpolding to Reit im Winkl. By train to Reit im Winkl: The nearest train station is in Prien am Chiemsee. From here you have the best bus connections (RVO bus line 9505) to Reit im Winkl. By plane: Munich Airport is approx. 140 km and Salzburg Airport approx. 70 km from Reit im Winkl.
