Welcome to Gut Steinbach! My family and I have stood for hospitality in Upper Bavaria for over 25 years. We acquired the Gut Steinbach estate in 2010/2011 and, in a passionate process, developed it into a "home retreat in the mountains" with a hotel, chalet village and top gastronomy. Sustainably. Guests and visitors who visit our hotel in Reit im Winkl in the heart of the Chiemgau Alps for the first time quickly realise what it means for us to not simply place sustainability as a phrase in an advertising brochure, but rather to make it tangible in as many details as possible: Starting with the building materials that were used for the revitalisation and expansion measures, incorporating traditional craftsmanship, through to our own certified organic farm with its own game, goats, chickens and yaks. At our nature hotel in Bavaria, we also take particular care to ensure that 80 per cent of the goods we use come from within a maximum radius of 80 km in order to operate as sustainably and resource-efficiently as possible. Arrival Description

Leave the A8 Munich-Salzburg motorway at the Bernau exit and turn left in the direction of Grassau - Marquartstein and from there continue in the direction of Reit im Winkl. Drive over the Masererpass into the valley and you will see the Reit im Winkl ski jumps on the left-hand side. With a view of this landmark, you will reach our house in the Blindau district, which is located directly at the outlet of the ski jumps.
