Description

The Leonardo Limited Edition Hotel Badischer Hof in Baden-Baden transforms grand hotel tradition into an exceptionally elegant experience of the present day. It has long been a human dream to undergo transformation, but achieving this oneself is not so easy. It's much simpler to change the setting-one that allows you to walk new paths and supports personal renewal. Such is the case with the Leonardo Limited Edition Hotel Badischer Hof in Baden-Baden, which opened in late summer 2025 and has undergone quite a transformation of its own. Originally a Capuchin monastery, it was converted in 1809 into the spa town's first grand hotel, based on the plans of classical architect and pioneering spa designer Friedrich Weinbrenner. It was one of the earliest luxury hotels in Europe. After an expansion in the 1990s in the then-splendid grand hotel style-still clearly visible today-its latest incarnation also plays in the top league. The Hotel: Generations of Famous Guests From the moment you enter, you're enveloped by the unmistakable grand hotel atmosphere-defined by spaciousness, tranquility, and comfort. Architecturally, the almost entirely preserved monumental staircase hall with its 18 wooden colossal columns is spectacular. This is where the lobby and piano bar are located, a magnet for hotel guests and locals alike. The hotel is centrally situated right in the heart of town-at this "place to be," guests enjoy both discreet privacy and the vibrancy of public life. Delicate, light color tones are easy on the eyes, and you'll want to order a drink just to see the heavy crystal glass sparkle on the deeply gleaming marble counter. The rooms are equally refined and timelessly elegant. Color accents are used sparingly, making you feel almost like you're in a black-and-white film-an echo of the old days when they were truly good. The 153 rooms are spread across the historic and new wings; the new wing, with its vibrant hues, feels like a color film in comparison. Here, classical grand hotel elegance meets its contemporary interpretation. All rooms offer views of the park or city. In addition, there are four conference rooms perfect for board meetings or private dinners. The restaurant, with its outdoor terrace, pampers discerning guests with fine dining, regional specialties, and an exquisite wine selection. The Badischer Hof is the only hotel in the region with its own thermal spring. Water at 37°C flows directly from deep underground into the outdoor pool of the generous spa area. Saunas, treatment and relaxation rooms, as well as a gym, round out the wellness offerings. The thermal water fountain in the hotel's park-like garden, a "three-bowl fountain," is one of the city's landmarks-on cold days, steam rises visibly from it. These many advantages have drawn generations of famous guests to the Badischer Hof, including writer Ludwig Tieck and composer Carl Maria von Weber. The Location: Capital of European Art de Vivre In Baden-Baden, you feel as though you already have one foot in France. This is one of the reasons why a high cultural and culinary standard is taken for granted in this town, which sees itself as the capital of European art de vivre. Wine country, world-class art, and wellness-a perfect match. It's no coincidence that Baden-Baden is part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site "Great Spa Towns of Europe." Here, luxury means leisure amidst the stunning natural surroundings of the Black Forest, as well as a love of beautiful things, which you encounter in elegant boutiques, numerous ateliers, and museums. This unique mix of cultural richness, relaxing atmosphere, and picturesque scenery has attracted many famous admirers-Empress Sisi, Marlene Dietrich, and, more recently, Victoria Beckham, Barack Obama, and Ed Sheeran. By the way, the sparkling atmosphere of the casino once inspired Russian writer Fyodor Dostoevsky to pen his novel The Gambler. What our guests can absolutely count on is our personal service: The Hotel Badischer Hof looks forward to welcoming you to Baden-Baden and will do everything to ensure that you leave feeling relaxed, revitalized, and fulfilled-transformed, even! The Collection: Unique Charm, Uncompromising Comfort The Hotel Badischer Hof is the fourth Leonardo Limited Edition hotel in Germany. With its rich history and vibrant spirit, it fits perfectly into this collection of exceptional, distinctive hotels, such as The Grand Brighton or the Alden Hotel in Zurich. The Leonardo Limited Edition includes carefully selected properties that impress with their unique stories and atmospheres. Each hotel opens up new worlds to the guest with charm and history-combined with uncompromising modern comfort, right from the first visit. In Germany, the collection also includes The Nikolai in Hamburg, the Mannheimer Hof, and The Posthouse Berlin.
