From Mülenen gorge to the three ponds

The wild and romantic Mülenen Gorge is the actual nucleus of the town. According to legend, Gall - the man who gave St Gallen its name, fell among the thorns here. This city walk takes you through the Mülenen Gorge up to the Drei Weieren, an oasis of peace in the centre of the city. The ponds have their very own story to tell and, with their art nouveau bathing huts, are a popular destination for excursions and a popular outdoor pool in summer.
