Short Characteristics

We look forward to welcoming you to our historic town house from the 18th century, which was rebuilt in 2010. It is the former home of court chef George Merbelt, who once cooked for the Saxon Elector and King of Poland, August the Strong. Let yourself be enchanted by the flair of the city center and our house.

KINDLY NOTE: The WiFi in the gallery holiday apartments 4 and 5 is guaranteed to work on the lower TV level. We cannot guarantee WiFi reception on the sleeping levels. We ask for your understanding.

Check in / Check out

Our entrance (Salzgasse 8) is opposite the back of the Albertinum.

Please register between 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. on your arrival day (Salzgasse 8 - opposite the Albertinum). You will find our name - Kulturstiftung Historisches Bürgerhaus on the bell sign at the entrance. We will then pick you up at the entrance and take you to your apartment and hand over the keys. For our internal planning, PLEASE let us know your approximate arrival time in advance (also via SMS) and we will make sure that we can coordinate the check-in personally and correctly to your arrival time if possible.

Experience has shown that there can always be delays. That's why we have placed a safe right at the front door where I can leave an envelope with a key and a few lines about the house for you. In this case, you will receive the code to open the safe from me via SMS to the cell phone number you provided, which means you are independent and do not have to wait in the event of possible delays.

When you arrive, you will receive your registration form, which we will ask you to fill out with your details (name, address, signature, etc.). We are obliged to report your data to the municipal tourism office.

On the day of departure, we ask you to leave your apartment by 10 a.m. so that the cleaning staff can start cleaning. When you leave, please drop the key in the mailbox of the Historischer Neumarkt/Kulturstiftung Historisches Bürgerhaus, as well as your registration form. Thank you!

Anreisebeschreibung

By plane: From Dresden Airport with the airport S-Bahn (line 2)
Dresden has an S-Bahn connection directly in the basement of the terminal. Modern shuttle trains connect the airport with the center of the state capital Dresden. The journey time to Mitte train station is approx. 20 minutes. At Mitte station, leave the platform at the rear exit. There is a tram stop below the platform. Take lines 1 or 2 towards the center. Get off at Pirnaischer Platz. From there it's about a 5 minute walk.

By train: From the main station
Exit the building at the headboard. There you will find the tram stop for line 3. Take this line to Pirnaischer Platz. From there it's about a 5 minute walk.
From Neustadt train station, take line 3 towards the center to Pirnaischer Platz.

By car: From the Dresden-Nord/Hellerau exit
If you arrive by vehicle, there is a public parking space about 100 meters away on Schießgasse, opposite the police headquarters. Fees: Mon-Sat 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. for 5 minutes each €0.20, Mon-Sat daily rate 24 hours €12.00, Sun+holidays 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. per hour €1.50, Sun+holiday daily rate 6.00 €, daily from 8 p.m. to 8 a.m. free of charge. There is a public underground car park directly in front of our building. The daily price is €28.

In front of the house, in the traffic-calmed area, there are a few parking spaces which, in accordance with Section 12 of the StVO, can only be used for getting in and out or loading and unloading.
