Opened in April 2012, the "Hotel am Großen Waisenhaus" is a building of great historic background. During the 17th century, the estate was built for married infantryman. In 1820 it turned into a military hospital for the nearby orphanage "Große Waisenhaus". 2012 - nearly 200 years later - the quiet and centrally-located city hotel, composed of individual styles, combine both historic and modern elements. The 34 room units to quarters of different size and equipment invite both bicycle and water tourists, as well as city travellers, to move into quarters here. The hotel is a garni-certified hotel, There you will have an excellent breakfast with fresh and locally-sourced products. 

arrival and departure rule

Arrival is possible between 3 p.m. and 10 p.m., on the day of departure the room is available until 11 a.m. Reception is open between 7am and 10pm.

How to get there

*By car: Follow the sign posting to Potsdam's city centre, Park Sanssouci; via "Breite Straße" coming from Potsdam's main train station, turn right into the "Dortustraße", drive till the second traffic light and turn left in to the "Charlottenstraße", at the next possibility turn left again. After about 50 meters you will see the hotel entrance on the right hand side. Parking (with advance reservation) EUR 8,50 per day and car.
