In the Retz countryside, at the foot of the idyllic vineyard below the famous windmill of Retz, lies our gem - the Althof. Originally the founding point of the town as a castle, today it is the perfect setting for your time-out in Retzer Land as a country estate & spa.
VinoSPA presents a new dimension of well-being: Awarded 1 lily in the Relax Guide, 5 levels of high-quality wellness are offered in an idyllic setting between vineyards and 700-year-old castle walls. The highlight is the infinity pool on the roof, from which you can enjoy a breathtaking view of Retz's landmarks - the windmill and the Retz town hall tower - at a pleasant temperature of around 30°C.
With the Gebietsvinothek Retzer Land (a regional wine shop), the Althof offers a unique experience and the largest regional variety of vintners in Lower Austria. 250 wines from 80 winemakers can be tasted and taken home at farm-gate prices.
Naturally, excellent cuisine and cosy hotel rooms are a must to round off a delightful stay. The spacious winegrowers' rooms with their smart, regional design and private wine cellar filled with the fine wines of the respective winery are top-notch.
