Gutenstein is an ideal starting point for excursions and hikes to destinations such as the Öhler, the Mamauwiese, the Kieneck or the Unterberg. The Schneeberg, Hohe Wand and Schwarzau are also worthwhile destinations.
Bicycle tours are another way to explore the area, with e-bike hire available on site.
Cultural highlights include the Raimund Festival and master class concerts in summer. In bad weather, the Waldbauernmuseum and the Raimund Memorial in Gutenstein as well as the Gauermannmuseum in Scheuchenstein offer interesting alternatives.

The guesthouse is accessible by public transport and offers a shuttle service from Gutenstein train station. A charging station for electric vehicles is also available.
