Description

Our guesthouse "Gatterl zum See" is located in the district of Seegatterl surrounded by an unobstructed view of meadows, forests and mountains. Our farm is home to 18 Cameroon sheep, 6 hard-working hens, a rooster and our cuddly cat Shanti. You can leave your car at home in winter as well as in summer: The cross-country skiing trail to Reit im Winkl - Ruhpolding runs behind the house and it's about a 10-minute walk to the cable car to the Winklmoos-Steinplatte skiing area (but you can also start skiing right away: 5 minutes slightly uphill and ski the rest down to the cable car). In summer, numerous hiking and cycling trails are waiting to be discovered by you. The nearby Weitsee (3 km from the house) or the rushing Lofer (600 m) invite you to swim. We are happy to give you tips for excursions! Our rooms are simply furnished, clean, lovingly designed and therefore simply cosy. We, Klaudia and Hardy and our son Lenni, would be happy to welcome you as our guests.

Reit im Winkl climatic health resort According to Wikipedia, the title "climatic health resort" is awarded to "places whose air and climate, according to an expert opinion, have properties that are conducive to recreation and health. Reit im Winkl was designated a climatic health resort in 1956 and since then has repeatedly met the requirements for the certificate by making efforts. For one thing, the altitude ensures that the summer heat remains moderate and the nights pleasantly cool. The village is surrounded by extensive mountain forests of the Chiemgau Alps and belongs to the "Bavarian Alps" climate district. The weather character is decisively determined by the conditions, i.e. by the influence of the mountain ranges and the valley incisions on the weather pattern. In addition to the natural conditions for good air, we actively take care with the natural warmth or ample bus offers that the good mountain air is preserved for us.

Arrival Description

By car to Reit im Winkl: Coming from Munich on the A 8 motorway, take the Grabenstätt exit. From there take the Bundesstraße 305 (German Alpine Road) to Reit im Winkl (27km). The Inntal motorway offers an alternative. Turn off shortly before Rosenheim at the "Inntaldreieck" and drive to the Oberaudorf exit. From there, take the Austrian federal road 172 to Reit im Winkl. Coming from Salzburg, take the motorway (A 8) to the Inzell-Ruhpolding exit and continue via Ruhpolding to Reit im Winkl. By train to Reit im Winkl: The nearest train station is in Prien am Chiemsee. From here you have the best bus connections (RVO bus line 9505) to Reit im Winkl. By plane: Munich Airport is approx. 140 km and Salzburg Airport approx. 70 km from Reit im Winkl.
