The Hotel Oberschmied is centrally located in the south at the foot of the Hausberg. It offers cosy rooms with shower/WC or bath/WC, some with balcony. The ambience of our rooms speaks for tasteful, individual charisma with a generous cut. In addition, we offer comfortable holiday flats with balcony or terrace in our integrated new building. All rooms in our non-smoking house are allergy-friendly. For a successful start into the morning, the day begins for you with a rich breakfast buffet. As of late, we offer you W-LAN connection and beds with an extra length of 2.10 m. After a long hike or sporting activity, you can relax in our sauna. You can spend sociable evenings at the cosy bar and there is a playroom for our younger guests. In our new restaurant - Grillhaus Alte Schmiede - guests can enjoy culinary delights in the evening. Our house is a perfect starting point for hikes, cross-country skiing tours, winter hiking trails and leisure facilities. Reit im Winkl climatic health resort According to Wikipedia, the title "climatic health resort" is awarded to "places whose air and climate, according to an expert opinion, have properties that are conducive to recreation and health. Reit im Winkl was designated a climatic health resort in 1956 and since then has repeatedly met the requirements for the certificate by making efforts. For one thing, the altitude ensures that the summer heat remains moderate and the nights pleasantly cool. The village is surrounded by extensive mountain forests of the Chiemgau Alps and belongs to the "Bavarian Alps" climate district. By car to Reit im Winkl... Coming from Munich on the A 8 motorway, take the Grabenstätt exit. From there take the Bundesstraße 305 (German Alpine Road) to Reit im Winkl (27km). The Inntal motorway offers an alternative. Turn off shortly before Rosenheim at the Inntaldreieck and drive to the Oberaudorf exit. From there, take the Austrian federal road 172 to Reit im Winkl. Coming from Salzburg, take the motorway (A 8) to the Inzell-Ruhpolding exit and continue via Ruhpolding to Reit im Winkl. By train to Reit im Winkl... The nearest train station is in Prien am Chiemsee. From here you have the best bus connections (RVO bus line 9505) to Reit im Winkl. By plane... Munich Airport is approx. 140 km and Salzburg Airport approx. 70 km from Reit im Winkl.
