Schwarzwaldhaus Schönbühl offers in addition to its ideal location overlooking the climatic spa Todtmoos and the pilgrimage church a unique feel-good atmosphere. Originally built as a sanatorium, it was run as a pension for decades. For almost 100 years, people here felt comfortable, spent their holidays here and recovered from illness. Schwarzwaldhaus Schönbühl lies on the sunny southern slope of the Todtmooser valley. From here it is only a few steps to the center with numerous shops, cafes, restaurants and banks, spa gardens and the Wehra valley hall. From the weekly market to guided hikes to various concerts, innumerable events (www.todtmoos.de) are available for young and old. Haus Schönbühl is a classic Black Forest house. Built in 1923 in timber frame construction with infill and the outer walls shingled. While the hipped roofs, which are drawn down far over the side walls, provide shade and coolness on hot summer days, they allow the low winter sun to warm up the exposed house walls on shorter days. Numerous details, such as the windows with the then usual attachment windows are still preserved. The large hillside garden is lushly planted - from spring to autumn, roses and shrubs bloom. In the shade of the trees there is also an outdoor terrace with sitting area and sun loungers.
