H02 - Through the Historical Watertowers at the Red Gate
Tours about Augsburg’s Hist. Water Management

Description
Come along with us inside the historical water works at the Red Gate, which provided Augsburg with drinking water from 1416 until 1879. You will view the large and the small water towers, the fountain master's house and the canal through which water has flowed over an aqueduct into the city for centuries. The large water tower is the oldest in Germany and most probably in central Europe. So ... castles are plentiful in Germany - but the water works at the Red Gate with its three towers are truly unique!
