A former historic city archive located on a quiet square in the shadow of the Basilica of St. Gereon, THE QVEST in Cologne continues to be an important chronicle, albeit of a modern nature this time. The hotel links history and modernity by combining neo-Gothic architecture with a curated collection of furniture, contemporary art, and photography. Thanks to the owner of QVEST magazine, Michael Kaune, whose love of modern design manifests itself not just in the pages of this niche art, design, and culture publication but also in his contemporary photography gallery, the hotel is a mid-century and Bauhaus lover´s dream. With a large part of the hotel furnished with Kaune´s personal collection of furniture and photographs, the spaces form a veritable design museum. Savvy guests can even take home a “souvenir” from an exclusive shop selling the hotel´s carefully curated furniture and design objects. QVEST even offers a small library of art, design, and fashion literature in every room. The hotel is located not far from the exhibition center, which is easily accessible by public transport.

DIRECTION to THE QVEST
Reach the Qvest hotel with ease, whether you are traveling by air, rail or car. Located only 1000 meters from Cologne Central Station, the hotel is only a 10 minute walk away. Trains from cologne-Bonn Airport to Central Station run every 15-20 minutes and the journey takes 12 minutes.

When leaving Central Station follow signs for the City Center. Outside the station you will see the Cologne Cathedral on your left. Head towards a brown building with the Rolex sign (Dompropst-Ketzer-Straße) on the front. Keep going straight to the next roundabout (approx 100 meters away). At the roundabout you should follow the street ahead (An den Dominikanern). After 10 miuntes walk you will find the Gereonskloster on the left hand side.

DIRECTIONS from Cologne-Bonn Airport

Autobahn A59 to Cologne Zentrum, ending in Colonge-Duetz. Cross the Rhine via Deutzer Bruecke. After the bridge you follow the street ahead till Cäcilienstraße around 300 meters, than turn right to the tunel, Nord-Süd-Fahrt. Follow the Tunisstraße around 580 meters and turn left in to Unter Sachsenhausen. Follow the street ahead and you will find us on the left side of the street.

DIRECTIONS from Dusseldorf Airport

Take HWY 44 to Moenchengladbach then HWY 57 to Cologne. Follow signs for 'Zentrum' (center) then Dom/HBF (main station). Follow the sign to Dom / Cathedral and at the Christophstraße you will find us on the right side of the street.

DIRECTIONS from Frankfurt Airport

Take HWY A3 then HWY A4 near Cologne to change at highway exit 14-Kreuz Gremberg to A559 with direction Köln Deutz. Cross the Rhine via Severinsbruecke. After the bridge you follow the street ahead and turn right at the lights in to Tel-Aviv-Straße. Follow the Nord-Süd-Fahrt. After the tunel you must follow the Tunisstraße around 580 meters and turn left in to Unter Sachsenhausen. Follow the street ahead and you will find us on the left side of the street.
