Duisburg-Meiderich Youth Hostel lies where there were once smoking chimneys - in the newly designed North Duisburg Landscape Park, which today is a place of relaxation, fun and adventure. School groups, conference guests and families who want to experience the Ruhr at first hand are welcome in the former administration building of the ThyssenKrupp steelworks.

The North Duisburg Landscape Park is now an area of activity. Surrounded by the relics of the old Ruhr region, industrial culture is naturally also a topic of school trips and trips for children and teenagers in Duisburg-Meiderich: boys and girls armed with film and photographic equipment go out in search of unusual subjects, climb in the former ore bunkers of the smelting works or go on a treasure hunt in the area equipped with GPS devices.

Arriving by public transport

Take the S1 Dortmund/Dusseldorf train or the S2 train towards Dortmund via Recklinghausen and get off at Duisburg Hbf (main station). From Duisburg main station or Dinslaken take the 903 tram to the "Voßstraße" stop. From there walk into Hagenauer Str. and then into Talbahnstraße as far as the hostel.
