Steinhuder Meer: Tour of Steinhude Kinder (4-13 Jahre)

During the tour, guests learn exciting details about the history of Steinhude - from the original fishing and weaving town to today's excursion destination on the Steinhuder Meer.

A special highlight is the exclusive visit to the historical box mangle, which is only possible as part of this tour. There you will gain insights into the traditional craft of linen weaving, which has shaped the place for centuries.

The tour continues through the picturesque Scheunenviertel with its lovingly restored buildings. Along the promenade you will also learn interesting facts about fishing on the Steinhuder Meer - including historical fishing methods and the importance of eel smoking for the region.

Another highlight is the view of Wilhelmstein Island, whose history as a former fortress and prison island is as fascinating as it is unique, as well as a visit to the inner courtyard of the Fishermen's and Weavers' Museum.
