Art and controversy

Description

Hans Trudel (1881–1958) was a passionate artist who dedicated his entire life to art despite financial hardship and social rejection. Nevertheless, he left behind numerous works in public spaces, including sculptures, fountains, and busts that still shape the city today. His art was only fully recognized after his death, notably through the Hans Trudel Foundation, which transformed his former home into a gallery. Some of his most famous works include Kinderreigen (Children’s Round Dance), Der Flieger (The Aviator), and Tränenbrünneli (Little Fountain of Tears), reflecting his artistic vision and tireless creative drive.
